Detective, at Go-Live, a patient's full history will be accessible from within the new OPOR system, but the data will live in four key locations. Understanding these locations is the key to solving your case. Review your sources carefully:
This is the new Oracle Health Clinical Information System launching at IWK on December 6, 2025. It is the primary system for all live patient charting and will also contain specific historical data that has been fully migrated, such as all years of Anatomic Pathology and Transfusion Medicine history.
This is the Health Information Exchange, accessible via a single sign-on link from within the OPOR CIS. Think of it as your window to the patient's recent past. It contains clinical documents and results from all zones, from January 1, 2023, to the present.
This is your deep historical database, also accessible via a single sign-on link inside the CIS. It holds archived information from legacy systems for the period prior to January 1, 2023. This is where you'll find older reports and data from systems like PICIS, Intellispace, and Med Dietary.
This is your temporary backup. It provides immediate, view-only access to historical information until the full LK Oasis Archive is complete (approx. 120 days post-Go-Live). If you need to see an older document right away, this is your interim source.
As a CIS sleuth, you will be presented with 20 clues. You must use each to identify which of the 4 data locations the clue resides in. A notebook has been provided that will automatically help you keep a record of your correct answers on the case.
Scoring: You have 2 attempts to answer a clue correctly. If you answer correctly on the first try, you earn 1 point. If you answer correctly on the second try, you earn 0.5 points. If you answer incorrectly both times, you earn 0 points and the case advances to the next clue.
Beware, some clues may require selecting more than one data source!
Controls: Use the 🔇/🔊 and 🌙/☀️ icons in the top-right to toggle sound and dark mode at any time.
Date of Arrival at the IWK: Dec. 10, 2025
Clues Found: 0/21
Time: 00:00
Keep honing your skills and familiarity with all data sources in preparation for OPOR Go-Live so that we can deliver on the promise of integrated health for all of Nova Scotia. See you on the next case!
